At the moment I still enjoy the accumulation of breastfeeding hours, and I don't want to think that I would have a single day of that right subtracted if I were an interim worker. This is what has happened to Sonia C., an interim music teacher from Granada.
She has been a mother of twins since November, and she had 8 more weeks off (4 for each baby) at accumulate breastfeeding hours and thus be able to take care of their children at home. But when submitting the application at the Provincial Delegation of Education of Granada they informed him that I could not enjoy this full time.
Being interim, what was due was a proportional part since it was not known if the next course would continue to work for them. So you could have about 14 days available to continue taking care of babies, and that works throughout the course. In the same case, an official teacher would enjoy the 2 more months.
A woman is being discriminated against because she is not a civil servant, when this educational system would hardly work without interim. A mother is being discriminated against in her right to care for her babies, breastfeeding hours and child care are being subtracted.
It is shameful that they are stealing hours of breastfeeding and that in the case of being able to accumulate them. When will they realize that it is a right of mothers Being able to care for your babies? A right, a need of the little ones. Of course, unfortunately, many women who do not work in the public sector see this right even more diminished, if not impossible.
I wish the obstacles, even traps, which sadly parents find so often to reconcile work and professional life. Hopefully this right to accumulate breastfeeding hours would be extended to all professional, public and private spheres, without prejudice to any worker. Then we would move towards a true conciliation.
I wish our society were aware that the future is in the hands of our children, that they have to take care of themselves, them and their fathers and mothers, facilitating to the maximum the work of motherhood and fatherhood, doing that are not incompatible with working life. And hopefully they stop repeating until they disappear cases as shameful as this one.
