Eulogio Varela's exhibition at the ABC Museum on Modernism includes a very attractive children's workshop

From MirArte we have been proposed to participate, and we have not resisted, in the exhibition of ABC Museum call Eulogio Varela: modernism and modernity in which we have observed, discussed and reflected on the extraordinary work of this great illustrator. And then, in the workshop, we have experienced techniques of Recorded. It is a workshop aimed at families with children from 7 to 12 years They have to be accompanied. The next workshops are March 8 and April 12, 2014. They are priced at 5 euros per participant

The exhibition of multi-faceted artist Eulogio Varela It is highly recommended. Eulogio was a painter, writer and designer among other great skills. We have been able to discover his drawings and designs inspired by nature, he was going to botanist, and his work allows us to know better the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The exhibition can be seen until June 22 and in this author you can see many influences such as Japanese prints, German and Viennese architecture, the works of English pre-Raphaelist symbolists, Wagnerian themes and works that follow medievalist and neohistoricist trends .

In our case we have worked in a Owl, in the image above, which the little one made using a punch on a sheet, rubber type Milan, which served as a printing press to make an engraving on paper. In my case I dared for one more design astronomical in which you can see some elements that remind of space and gravity.

To finish the designs, what we did, in addition to keeping the iron to sign our work at home, was print the design on the sheet, illustrate it with a story and paste it on cardboard to complete family work.

The little girl and I recommend the exhibition of Eulogio Varela because in her illustrations and designs you can find fantastic, religious, exotic images, with a great presence of nature and especially emphasizing the role of modern women. The collection is very extensive and you can choose areas to contemplate and deepen with the kids.

Eulogio Varela was also a designer of borders, capital letters, colophones, monograms or calligraphies and in his works you can see a graphic art pioneer. In fact I asked if he made comics because his style has had to serve as inspiration for artists of this genre, still in the early twentieth century. Further, the workshop, in the case that it can be done, it is very fun, with good indications and with novel and interesting materials To work pleasantly in family.
