Batracio Frogger He is a character devised by Andrei, a writer who likes to say that he was born in Russia (although it is not true), the truth is that he also tells about himself that as a child he learned the language of animals, and these have come to tell him many stories, but this is no longer surprising, rather knowing, one can come to understand the appeal of his books for children.
In the second book about this peculiar frog called 'Fatal Ancas, a case of Batracio Frogger', Andrei displays a magnificent scenario in which the adventure of the famous detective / amphibian unfolds: Ancas City is a city populated by amphibians that accompany Occasionally from some reptile and insects like cockroaches and beetles.
Children love mystery and adventure, they are also fascinated by frogs (I think mainly because they are animals that they hear about but have no chance to see - among other reasons because they are becoming extinct -). So at first, this story is meant to catch and keep your attention. Our character today is even more peculiar than its author: a busy life and dotted with intrigues to be resolved, contrast with the faithful love professed by his girlfriend Ranabel from a distance (who works in humanitarian missions).
When he is hired to prevent theft of the secret formula of the important cosmetics company 'Ancanel', he hardly imagines what awaits him. Because if it all starts with employee interviews and night surveillance, of course the last thing Batracio would have expected is for his 'opponent' to be two frogs (or three) at the same time, as if from a case of double personality It will be.
And I, I can not agree more with Andrei that children's literature (especially that directed to children over seven or eight years) has many gaps to cover. Over the years we have gone from the classics to stories that are too childish or intended for educational purposes (which is very commendable), but the children demand stories according to their interests and needs. Books for children are not old and that is why it is good for kids to get used to reading all kinds of genres (without fear of the difficulty they may present), mystery and adventure are among the favorites of pre-adolescent children
I think even the most intrepid adventurers need stability and care, and for that there are Ku (the cockroach friend of Batracio) that comes from a (how not!) great family, and also Ranabel ... will he be able to leave everything for her?
And when after solving the case, the director of Ancanel pays you more money than agreed in exchange for 'keeping a secret that you still don't know', Rannie is left behind (or was it Narnie?), as well as the dangers involved. And also the sad past of the poison frog (which may have to do with the other two) that everyone repudiated, but now finds comfort serving 'the highest bidder'.
I will not forget to tell you that the illustrations are by Jorge Liquete, who lives in Berlin, dedicated to illustration and audiovisual production; and neither that Narval has sent us a copy of this book, and that is how we have been able to tell you.
