The moon in my room, also known as Moon in my room, is an educational toy of those that last for a long time for a simple reason: it is decorative and not available to children. We have it at home and it is so successful among the children that come and also among adults, that I found it interesting to show you the possibilities of this toy with a video analysis.

It is a kind of moon-shaped lamp that decorates the children's room and shows, as you can see in the video, the different phases of the moon. In addition it serves as a lamp "quitamiedos", because when the light of the room is turned off, the moon turns on.

The purpose of this toy is to introduce children to the world of astronomy astrology. It is recommended from 6 years, although as younger children usually know the moon much earlier (and usually amazes them a lot), there is no problem in advancing this age. For example, I bought it when my oldest son was 3 years old and from the first moment he liked it a lot.

Anyway, it is a toy with a very specific purpose, which Like almost more for what it means at the decorative level than for what it offers at the game level (changing the phases of the moon and seeing how it turns on and off is fun just for a while).

It is plastic, but it feels solid to the touch and although at first glance it looks very realistic, as it looks more it is lit with the room in the dark. It comes with an Audio CD that explains the moon phases and something else, but it's in English, so it doesn't play much.

The remote is tiny and uses 2 AAA batteries. With on / off button, manual phase change and automatic phase change button, as the video shows.

The price varies depending on where you buy it, so I recommend that you look a little before buying. I have found these three links with three different prices (between 29 and 39 euros):

  • Acuista.
  • Playful
  • Megagadgets
